Public Administration & Rule of Law

Rule of Law

Rule of Law is a basic feature of the Indian Constitution. Indeed, it can be called the soul of our Constitution. Rule of Law means:

  1. Supremacy of Law; and
  2. Equality before law and equal protection of the laws. No one, how so high he may be, is above law; and law treats everyone equally and it protects everyone equally.

The real question is who is responsible for translating this great ideal into reality and for upholding the Rule of Law?
